CreaCity Photo Album - Manual
General
To maintain your photo album you need FTP access to your web server. If you don't have an FTP client yet, you can download FILEZILLA for free. To upload your images, the directory pixlie/cache must be set to CHMOD 777 - if your photo album is on our server, this is already set correctly.
Creating a new Gallery
Choose the directory /pixlie/upload (by using FTP) and create a new directory with the name of your gallery, e.g. "Children". This means now you have the path /pixlie/upload/Children to upload your images. Please note that all directories and files are case sensitive. Do not open directories without images - empty galleries do not look good.
Preparing your images
Save your images in format .jpg and a maximum with of 800 px / 72 dpi. The system will manage the best size automatically - you don't have to take care about that. Give names who tell what is shown on the image, e.g. "Tennis at Wimbledon.jpg"
Uploading images
Start FTP and choose your target directory /pixlie/upload/(your gallery) and transfer your images (.jpg format). You can rename your images at any time to get better titles for them. Do not use dots within the file name, except .jpg and do not upload the file thumbs.db which is only used by your local Windows.
Deleting images/galleries
Start FTP and delete the images in the directory /pixlie/upload/(your gallery). To remove the whole gallery, simply delete the directory (which has the name of your gallery).
Bad image quality?
If your uploaded images do not look perfect try to delete all files in the directory /pixlie/cache (use FTP for that).
